On the 15th of July 2013, the first two performances of a new version of Noah's Fludde took place at St Lukes Church in Southend.
In a collaboration between Pinpointcreate and Southend Choirs, a professional cast with Alex Ashworth as Noah, Karina Lucas as Mrs. Noah, and the Britten Sinfonia, joined by Southend Boys and Southend Girls Choirs, a Youth Orchestra, and Southend School children as 'animals', Benjamin Britten's children's opera was brought dramatically to life.
Pinpointcreate's Mike Dodsworth concepted and directed.
Hi Ching from FIPA - ( Federation of Indian Performing Arts) designed and created the animal masks, the Raven and the Dove, and choreographed their movement.
Roger Humphreys of Southend Choirs conducted.
The third performance was staged at the iconic London Cruise Terminal, Tilbury on the 17th of July.
The performers numbers were increased by Thurrock school children who added more 'animals' to Noah's ark.
A special two tier stage was built and Pinpointcreate's composer, David Stanley, composed a fanfare to introduce the beginning of the event.
The final performance of the week was on Friday, the 19th of July in Southwark Cathedral.
Here the entire cast conducted by Johnathon Willcox, complete with introductory fanfare, thrilled a capacity audience in the Cathedral.
The journey symbolically linked the story of Noah, Britten's Noyes Fludde, and the floods of 1953 which swept along the east coast of England in a moving and unforgettable performance.
" I write to thank you very sincerely for all your help with the recent production of Noye's Fludde by the Southend Boys' and Girls' Choir.
I think it would be true to say that, without your drive and enthusiasm, this production would not have been the success it proved to be.
All the many challenges were met and this enabled our young people to enjoy, and benefit from, taking part in this prestigious project.
Thank you so much."

Peter E Croysdill  -  Chairman of the Trustees.
